Unlimited Showcase
Unlimited Showcase, freely inspired by the first experimental reference in Brazilian cinema – the feature film Limite (1931) by Mário Peixoto – has become one of the main spaces for experimentalism and innovation within the Festival.
With an eye on the trends of this cinema, we present three programs with 14 films from nine countries, which create and investigate very particular geographies: Hyperrealities, composed of films that reconstruct urban spaces through different layers and sensorialities; The eyes of the forest, a cut that explores different elements and aspects of nature; and The rule of the game, a program that brings together films based on the aesthetics and narratives of computer games.
The films in this showcase include works that captivated audiences at several international festivals such as Locarno, Rotterdam, Vila do Conde, IndieLisboa and Visions du Réel, in addition to works that will be presented in world premiere.
